New Snaggle Foot Franchise in Lisle is Definitely a 'Family Affair'

Oct. 6, 2010--The new Snaggle Foot Pet Care franchise that recently opened in Lisle, Illinois is bringing new meaning to the phrase "family values." The owners, Tom and Lori Thornton, along with their college-age son Andrew, are longtime pet welfare activists who decided to transform their passion for animals into a business to benefit the community.

"We've been deeply involved with animals for years, whether it's rescuing strays, helping rehabilitate injured dogs or just building our own 'extended family' of pets," says Tom Thornton. "So opening a Snaggle Foot Pet Care franchise for the people of Lisle is the natural thing to do."

As with all Snaggle Foot franchises, the Thorntons will offer a full complement of services the national company is known for — pet sitting, dog walking and other in home pet care services that give pet lovers peace of mind when they're away from home due to work or vacation.

"We decided to launch a Snaggle Foot Dog Walks & Pet Care because Tom was tired of the 'rat race,'" says Lori of her husband, a former account executive for a graphic printer. (You've probably seen Tom's handiwork on area museums, sports arenas and shopping malls.) "I like to joke that instead of rats, we're dealing with a completely different set of animals."

But at Snaggle Foot, they'll hardly be new to this job. Animal welfare causes and community service have long been close to the Thornton family's heart. They've been volunteering for German Shepherd Rescue, Inc. for more than 10 years, giving German Shepherds in need of loving families a second chance at a stable home. In addition, they've fostered countless homeless dogs and frequently participate in adoption events (and, yes, expanded their own "furry family" when they themselves fell in love with an adoptee). In fact, Lori created and maintains the rescue organization's website. Along with Tom, she looks forward to bringing the same enthusiasm and tireless energy to their Snaggle Foot Pet Care franchise.
